Hajj 2016: 29 Pakistani pilgrims die due to Saudi negligence so far
At least 29 pilgrims belonging to Pakistan have died during Hajj season 2016 owing to negligence of relevant Saudi authorities. Deaths have been confirmed but facts are being covered up by Pakistani authorities.
Surprisingly, a pro-Saudi Urdu newspaper reported yesterday in a front-page news story that deaths were caused by the consumption of food that was harmful for their health. Some died due to heat stroke.
Pakistani pilgrims have been complaining to the relevant authorities that food injurious to their health was being provided to them. Many complained their baggage was missing at the Saudi airport and their residential facilities were also not feasible for stay. They have been provided residences much away from the limits of Haram.
On the other hand Pakistani religious ministry and other relevant authorities have been praising Saudi authorities for ‘good’ arrangements for Pakistani pilgrims. It seems that corrupt and negligent officials of Saudi kingdom have joined hands with the like-minded Pakistani officials in ignoring and gaging those Pakistani pilgrims who lodge complaints of poisonous food and lack of required arrangements and feasible residential facilities.
Pakistani employees have also been stuck in Saudi Arabia since their influential pro-monarchy employers have not paid them salaries and they were detained by Saudi authorities for a long time.
